The Dummies’ Guide for Places to visit in Udaipur

There exist places that are famous for scenic beauty or cultural heritage or mighty hills, subtle water bodies. Don’t be amazed if I say there is a city in Rajasthan which is famous for all these tourist attractions.

Hi, I am Aman a travel freak who is always amazed to explore new places. With this inspiration I decided to find out the reason why Udaipur is called as “Venice of East”, one of the most talked about cities in world. And believe me even in my one day visit everything stands correct.

Since it was a one day visit to this place I decided to board a site seeing bus with the name “Udaipur Darshan”. The tour operator offers all basic facilities like complete A/C, Wi-Fi and drinking water.

The tour starts from Panchwati Circle and covering the major market area viz. Townhall, Surajpole, Rangniwas I arrived at Dudh Talai the first spot which itself is a mixture of 4 other spots including Badi Pal, Karnimata Mandir, Pt. Deendayal Garden and Jal Buraj. Deendayal Garden is famous for its musical fountain and the ropeway service for Karnimata Temple, the third highest temple peak in Udaipur. The view from Karnimata Temple is totally mesmerizing; you can even call it a place where you get a bird eye view of the entire city. Moving towards Badi Pal you get a sight of Udaipur’s life line and major water source Lake Pichola, a huge water body surrounded by the Aravali Mountains on one side and Place boundary and old city on the other. Amidst the lake there stands two islands popularly known as Lake Palace – A Unit of Taj Hotels and Jagmandir Island – A Unit of HRH Group.

The tour continues with its next destination as City Palace and Jagdish Temple. City Palace finds its age old history of more that 500 years with various shops, museums, light and sound show and amazing restaurants where you can taste the authentic cultural food of Mewar. Jagdish Temple holds is history, aesthetic carvings and atheists believes. It is always said that best comes in the last and this tour is planned accordingly because at the end of the tour you get to know why Lake Fatehsagar is known as the life of Udaipur. I ended up my tour with a thrilling boating experience in Fatehsagar. Some other places that were covered were Sukhadia Circle famous for its fast-food joints and Gulab Bagh also known as lungs of the city.

In short to visit this city is a once in a life time experience, I would rather suggest that plan a long weekend to enjoy your trip completely.
